Return window
Buyers may request a return within 30 calendar days of the date the delivery acceptance form was signed. Requests submitted after the 30-day window cannot be honored.
Condition requirements
To qualify for a refund, the returned container must be in the same condition it was delivered in:
- No new dents, punctures, welded modifications, drilled holes, or repainting.
- All original doors, lock rods, gaskets, vents, and depot decals intact.
- Floor clean and free of spills, stains, or aftermarket flooring installations.
- Refrigerated units must have refrigeration hours logged within manufacturer specification.
Containers that have been used to store cargo, then emptied, and otherwise meet the above are still eligible. Containers that have been modified — windows cut, doors added, electrical run, structural welds — are not eligible.
How to initiate a return
- Email sales@axisconex.com within 30 days of delivery. Include your order number, the reason for the return, and 6–10 photos showing the container's current condition (all four sides, both doors open and closed, floor, and any concerns).
- An account specialist reviews the request and issues a written Return Material Authorization (RMA) within 2 business days. Do not arrange freight before receiving the RMA.
- Axis Storage coordinates pickup logistics with the buyer's preferred carrier or quotes return freight using our network (buyer's cost — see below).
- Once the container is back at our depot and re-inspected, the refund is calculated and processed.
Restocking fee, return freight & refund amount
Restocking fee: 15% of the container price. This covers depot intake, re-inspection, repainting touch-ups, and re-listing.
Return freight: Paid by the buyer. Axis Storage can arrange the return at carrier cost (typically $1.50–$3.50 per loaded mile from your address to the nearest Axis depot) or you may use your own carrier with our written approval.
Refund calculation: Container price − 15% restocking − return freight (if arranged by Axis) = refund amount. Original outbound delivery is non-refundable on returned units.
Timing: Refunds are issued within 5–10 business days of depot re-inspection, returned to the original payment method (bank wire to originating account, ACH reversal, or card refund).
Damaged or defective on arrival
If the container arrives with damage that was not disclosed on the product page or shown in the depot inspection photos, note the issue on the bill of lading at delivery and email photos to sales@axisconex.com within 48 hours. Damage-on-arrival claims are refunded in full — restocking fees and return freight do not apply.
Custom modifications & refurbished builds
Container builds with custom modifications (windows, doors, HVAC, electrical, interior fit-out) are non-returnable once production has started, as they are manufactured to the buyer's specification. Standard cargo containers and refurbished units listed in the shop are covered by this policy.
